Speaking Of Stars Poem by Raymond Farrell

Speaking Of Stars

In the day
None stumble
From lack of light
The light of the sun
Though a small insignificant star
Compared to others in the universe
Is more than adequate
To warm and enlighten our planet
But at night
The light of the stars
Coming from thousands
Of light years away
From stars
That may or may not
Still be in existence
But whatever the
Condition of the star
Engendering the light
The light itself
Gives
Illumination and direction.

I know not when
If ever
Humanity has stood
In the pure
Light of day
Hence
All the more reason
To be thankful
For any stars
Past or present
Who can
However faintly
Help
To enlighten the pathway
As we stumble along
In the night.

~*Beautiful. Cosmology is a hobby of mine, as is gawking in wonder with my neck strained upwards at night

I envy you if you know anything about the night sky and what the different stars are etc.
