Spechts Resturaunt And Saloon Poem by Rik Bertrand

Spechts Resturaunt And Saloon

I found this place out on old Specht Road,
It was the smell of the food that I followed.
Well, this place was right out of a western cartoon,
The name of this place was Spechts Restaurant and Saloon.

Well I walked right in with a buddy of mine,
I ordered a beer and he ordered a wine.
The Barkeep was fine and old as the hills
But she said she had to work to pay all the bills.

She was the nicest of folk I ever did meet,
And I gave her a stool to get her off her feet.
The legend of Spechts is quite and ordeal,
But you could feel love in the place, and that’s what is real.

The smell of the food put me in a trance,
I felt so relaxed I just wanted to dance.
We ate our fine meal at picnic tables outback,
It was all just so country, and well laid-back.

The view of the countryside, the cows and the steers,
The view of a life without any fears.
A family band with two brothers and sister,
Who played great music that brought pleasure to listeners.

The patrons of Spechts were like family and friends,
And though I had never been here, I fit right in
Order some more drinks, raise your beers high
Toast Spechts Country Saloon as friendships we tie.

In old Bear County outside San Antonio
I found a piece of heaven, that you cannot forego
Its Spechts Restaurant and Saloon, downright country
They have damn good steak, and blistering poultry

I tell you this talel so that you will all know,
That life can be found on an old country road.
Friendships and bonds that will last forever,
And I can tell you right now, life couldn’t get better.
