Spider Bed Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Spider Bed

Once upon a silent weary
Rainy days so dark an dreary
There outside a window pane
Lie a spider drenched in rain

Little spider please come in
Make a home my tiny webbing friend
You must be cold, you're soaking wet
You may if you wish- Live beneath the bed

Long forgotten, the spider grew
Big she was with eyes of blue
Now the monster beneath her bed
Shadowed silks became a giant web

Every night when her spider played
When Sally thought it was time to open,
'Once again' her window pane
Then like a speedy flash of gray
Her spider left, then ran away

Soon began a long parade
Now late Summer without a drop of rain
A thousand baby spiders came
From beneath the bed, they raced away

Sally sad, she had lost her spider. 'And; '
Yet Sally knew that spiders never make good friends
Once upon no story end
The sun shined thereon, A thousand webs
