When Spider-Man goes on patrol, Spider-Sense serves him well,
Perhaps to learn what felons stole, and later want to sell.
They each come to a sticky end, if Spidey has his way,
Yes, Spidey's our neighbourhood friend, no matter, night or day.
He listens to the radio to learn what's going down,
And pretty soon, he's in the know and swoops across the town.
He shoots his web so crooks stand still, then leaves them for the cops,
And while, at first, that's such a thrill, in truth, crime never stops.
Sometimes he even saves lives, too, and then the crowd applauds,
And credit where credit is due, he has no guns or swords.
His arms outstretched, then at full length, that's not too much to ask,
Fast reflexes with super strength, and courage for each task.
He knows the challenge he must face. This night could be his last.
And yet this truth he must embrace, and yet not look downcast.
But can he do that every night? To have no life at all?
That's enough to cause a fright and drive me up the wall.
If I had a gorgeous girlfriend, I wouldn't choose to roam,
Yet he's a hero to the end as he starts straight from home.
While I stay kissing, full of love, up close with my sweetheart,
He's on patrol and 'doing stuff' and tries to do his part.
Well, that's good for you, young hero! Yes, good for you, indeed!
But since I've got a girlfriend, bro, I'll let you take the lead!

Here is a superhero poem by the Poemhunter poet Denis Martindale. The title is SPIDER-MAN! In his new poem, he pays tribute to the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. At first, the poem praises the local hero for all the poem's worth, but this time, there's a twist in the tale. Many young guys think of being a vigilante hero. However, have they truly taken the time to count the cost? As Stan Lee would say, 'Nuff said! '
