Spirit Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

Spirit

Speak to me with your eyes.
Tell me of your lives,
Past, present, future,
In power and enslaved.

Tell me of your life among the Mayans
As mystery, as spirit, as guide.
Let me see the temples with my third eye.
Take me back with you in time.

Then lead me through the jungle
Take me through the caverns
Down, Underground, Underworld.
Introduce me to the Dead.

Then lead me to yet another plane.
Introduce me to your fellow souls,
Watchers, Listeners, Predators, Prey
Explain the Wheel in a Kaleidoscope Code.

Then let me wake, in my own bed,
In my home plane, with images whirring,
Blurring, fading into nothing but your green eyes
Staring at me from within that narrow cage.
