Star Child Poem by Sven Rhoads

Star Child

I have seen the face in the constellations
A smile brighter than great Sirius
I bathe in these thoughts without hesitation
She was made of more than just cosmic dust
Her eyes behold the burning stars at night
Neon beckons among the midnight sea
The tempting unknown that feels so right
Heaving such waves right over me

Beyond the planets where no man has gone
She remains a wonder to this heart and mind
Sent me such beauty from the light of the moon
This star child is more than divine

When the sun brings about the dawning hour
And she fades from my sight
I wait the moment when she will return
So we may be united once again

With each frozen world and molten giant
Her limits will always be unbound
My fascination remains defiant
Always waiting for her to be around
With every shooting star in the sky
I make my wish to be carried away
If you can hear me sweet star child
May the night be forever, may you never fade
