Star Wishing Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Star Wishing

While gazing at a pale blue sky,
That was filling up with clouds,
Right when the sun was going down,
A pink hue was all around.

Then suddenly I saw pink hearts,
That looked like Valentine’s.
It made me wish that you were here,
So tonight you could be mine.

Stretching out just as far
As my dark blue eyes could see.
I wondered if the sky was as large
As my expanding love for thee.

Nature filled my eyes with wonder.
Made me want you there right then,
To wish upon falling stars with me,
While making love with me again!
