Staring Poem by John Carter Brown

Staring

Staring

My favourite hobby is staring
I've got it down to an art
I sit in contemplation
and let the daydreams start

it's really very simple
not difficult at all
just focus on a sunbeam
on a window or a wall

forget, just for a moment,
the world and all it's woes
then a daydream will enfold you
and take you where it goes

don't fight the inclination
to wallow in the scene
don't second-guess the moment
or anywhere you've been

just let a moment hold you
and take my free advice
because the art of staring
is precious and it's nice.
