Starting To Know Poem by Mlondi Samkelo Ndlovu

Starting To Know

Rating: 4.8

Words pour out of this mouth raw,
unfiltered for ease of the world's digestion.
The eye of poetry is uncovered
while lost within books,
and the redemption of words
breeds a new being.

With every footstep taken,
the mind falls a little into its dying
just so it could be reborn a little,
to allow the new breed life.
The world grinds its teeth
and laughs a little in mockery.

The new being discovers and hides
its vulnerability to be clouded and die out;
the world discovers and exploits it.
And again a new being is bred
one that is defiant and unrestrained,
the divergent, unbarred from imagination.
The half-dead self hopes that the new prospers.

Knowing that itself knows not much
It is starting to know.

With every footstep taken, mind falls in confusion and sometimes in surety. The new being discovers and hides. Coming age is really very wonderful. An amazing poem is shared here.10
