State Of Trance - Poem by Zaid Akhtar

A State Of trance
When you cant decide
to snap all contact
or to call the contact
When you so want to be with her
but then you also want to stop yourself
In this world of right & wrong
You are “ &”
the stakes are too high
cons way too much
Its innocuous as you have not done it before
you are not sure of how she feels
probably you do but you still hope
sometimes you don’t know how you feel
A State Of trance

You feel the glances she steals at you
You sense her insecurity too
The high when she holds your hand
especially while crossing the road
Wish the crossing would never end

You try to search for her flaws
You stare at her face
But! Alas she smiles
& its all done and dusted
A State Of Trance

Hell with it
I am in love! !
But is she too? ?
As in with me! !
Or does she only need me?
The biggest enigma
A State Of Trance

Its funny how
she became so important
Sometimes you cannot measure attachment is terms of time
she makes you question your confidence? ?

State Of Trance.

There was no spark when I 1st met
when did she become the choice
from options? /
she makes me make up situations
of meadows and gardens
she makes me write sonnets
Am not a stalker
she makes me insecure

The stakes are too high
Probably “friends” is best
the heart will have to mellow
May be I am “FriendZoned”
Listen to your brain! !
Hell! ! This is how it feels
