Statues Poem by Andra Wadas

Statues

Statues coming to life
breaking the iron hearts
Chastising love
solid walls
frozen waters
running through the veins
one day waking up
breathing in warm air
functional lungs
absorbing oxygen
feeling the breeze
once locked in a cage
now finally free
a way of life
we build over years
able to feel,
able to love
finally waking up
and caring about all
