sitting next to you,
your driving me home.

you were my first love,
but we drifted away some how.
you were my prince,
you were my world..
in some far away time and place.

you park in front of my house, and sigh.

your stairing at me, and i dont know why.

then u finally speak,
' your eyes look like they have no light, no sparkle
anymore...
they look the sea with no shore.
they are'nt the same blue anymore.'

i look at you puzzled, then look away.
'ive changed alot Alex, '
i surender,
' im worse than u can tell..
worse than i would ever let u be.'

'well if it means anything sweetie..
im still lost in that sea..
so if u ever need me
u know where to find me. i never left u...
im where ive always been.
so if i can put that sparkle back in your eyes,
let me know.'

'i wish i could believe you, '
i sigh
'cuz thats how i feel,
lost and alone.
im better this way...
i wont let me hurt you again.'

i push open the car door and walk away...
and let my sea run free from my eyes..

...how could i let him see,
all the lonliness raging inside me?
my dark and shoreless sea.
.. i will never let him be.
