Stitch Poem by Asit Kumar Sanyal

Stitch

When you left me in soldier's dress
giving a child as gift
I became mother
They cut my abdomen and stitched
stitched my life too.

You never came back
Your body came home in a box
funeral held in royal honor
our love story was torn apart
all that remained is stitch.
