Everytime I see you,
you never look the same.
Though the shimmer in your eyes has never changed,
nor has the heart you bare.
Looking at your face,
I see a different person.
What good is this to me?
I think I'm hallucinating now.
I see what's not there,
I'm better to close my eyes,
and see with my hands.
Each hair in your beard,
rubbing againt my palms.
I see you,
the you I've always known.
The you I've always needed,
and whose always been there.
You came for the last time,
as I'd asked you to do.
I only wanted to wrap my arms around you,
and pretend that tomorrow would come.
Is it so wrong to live a short lie like that?
I'd given my day to the thought of you,
and still I suffered at your hands.
I've gotten so lost in my mind,
the things I see are so distorted.
We are stoned, you and I.
We are beyond.
Reality is not so beautiful,
as a familiar car in the driveway.
As a voice my heart would dance to.
I couldn't be in such a place, without you.
Which makes me wonder,
maybe you're no longer there.
My minds pulled the covers over my eyes,
and I see what I believe I see.
Illusions, lies.
