Stop All The Steps Poem by Edwina Reizer

Stop All The Steps

Stop all the steps that you've taken
That aren't in tune with you.
Go in a different direction
And do what you want to do.
We hear people say, "I hate my job."
And yet they will not leave.
And if they find themselves fired
They cry upon their sleeve.
Well of course they do. They need their pay.
They need to do what they hate everyday.

But maybe, just maybe
It can be a gift in disguise.
Maybe things can change for them
To have them realize
That to stop the steps that brought no peace
Will help you to become
A person alive with new purpose
And a new song to be sung.
