Stop The War Poem by Raimi Babatunde

Stop The War

Let our words be of hope
Let our songs be of inspiration
While our Sun rises at dawn
Let the Moon, paint the night
Alongside the beautuful pieces of art
Gently tucked in the skies as stars
Let their shine; shine our shine

If they ask you where you're from
Just tell them as a citizen of the world
The earth is yours and the fullness therein
Say "No: to racism in all shades
Stop the war, conflict and disasters
And let our children grow in peace
Tell me, who really wins in a war?

Let us build bridges and not walls
My heart bleeds as the sky drips
The blood of the innocent gives me insomnia
I quiver at the sound of your machines
How long, tell me, for how long?
But behind the cloud I see a ray
Hope that has long eluded us
That one day, the veil will be lifted
And we'll live happily, ever after
