Storm-Tossed Poem by Dans Only

Storm-Tossed

The storm has passed.
I am lost in a sea of emotion
Threatening to capsize me.
Waves of fear and doubt
Are seeping into my weak vessel.
This ocean of feelings beckons to me
With thoughts of happiness and carefree joys.
Seems all to easy.
To slip beneath the saline waves
Into the healing womb.
One emotion shines like a beacon though,
Patiently waiting to be recognized.
Not luring with promises,
Security, or even hope.
It floats above like a star,
Forever beyond the reach of the quagmire below.
Never to become an ingredient
In the concoction I've brewed.
Who's radiance calms the breakers.
Within that light I see you.
No rules.
No conditions.
No expectations.
Simply love.
