On this stormy day fell such heavy snow,
That begot such frozen chill,
The snow blocked the keenest of human sight,
And subdued the strongest will.
Quite suddenly came into dimmest view,
Like wolves prowling in the dusk,
Two figures wrapped up in their warmest shawls:
In this storm one surely must.
They were riding a sled that hissed and steamed,
From speed o'er the frigid snow,
Their laughter bounced back from the mountain top,
And echoed back from below.
It was Mary and Mina, warmly wrapped,
Enjoying the wintry blast.
The blizzard just made it that much more fun,
As they made their trip, so fast.
They ended their ride where the slope ran out,
With half-way frozen noses.
Jack Frost had re-painted each total face,
As red as summer roses.
They put up their sled and they walked across,
To the Stang's Cafe' Latte',
Where they ordered a special chocolate drink,
Called a chocolate mousse frappe'.
They sat among all of their dearest friends,
And enjoyed the chilly day.
With a menu of every tasty treat,
And every game to play.
Mina beat Easy in each game of pool:
Not bad, for a three year old!
She put on mittens and covered her ears,
And went back out in the cold.
