Stouffville Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Stouffville

Stouffville

Wondering what it means
-saw Etta standing
-on roadside
-had a cart
-a jacket with hoody
-both wet and in black
-underneath thick clouds
-blue rain; and grey is sky…

On the seat next to me
-passenger's
-lays her book
-The half-read
-as many on table
-and in shelves

Otto must be waiting
-Good-hearted
-crazy

Come to mind stories
-facts,
-fictions
-fantasies
-history
-all in all; the writing

A person lives at home
-surrounded is amongst
-the friends, family, relatives
-then frown, sort of cause
-excuse to depart
-goes and goes
-in peace, fights
-if returns turns hero

What happens to the rest?
-those in sea
-killed and dead
-or beaten and eaten to the bone?
-destroyed? Forgotten?
