Straight Hate Poem by Under A Microscope

Straight Hate

Who am I that you should hate me so? ?
What have I done that has offended you?
Am I too happy with the one I love while you are not?
Does my pride in who I am scare you?
Does my heart not beat like yours?
Does my mind not think or do I not feel as you do? ?
At the end of the day I am human just as you and
deserve, no, demand RESPECT!
Should I ask for forgiveness?
Then would you acknowledge who I am?
I have a heart that seeks desperately to be loved
and to love, not to despise and to hate.
But I guess that in your mind love is only for
the straight.

Dedicated to anyone who has ever been judged for their sexual
orientation. And a thought to those who have ever judged in general,
please live and let live.
