Strange In This Hollow Shell Poem by Mohammad Younus

Strange In This Hollow Shell

Rating: 4.5

Strange in this hollow shell,
Who stirs the chaos,
An endless thirst for more?
A paradox of silence and uproar,
Both tethered to the earth,
Yet yearning to soar beyond.

I feel no ghost or angel within,
Only an abyss so vast and deep.
Yet shadows of darkness,
Haunting illusions,
Creep in like whispers,
Cold and cruel,
Entangling themselves
With the threads of my mind.

Illusions, I say,
But it's more than that—
A heavy mind,
An invisible weight.
Heavy as lead,
It anchors my soul,
An unrelenting burden,
I cannot control.

I gasp for air,
But the air feels thick—
Each breath borrowed, strained,
A desperate attempt to free myself
From illusion's grasp.

And what of life,
If caught in illusion's haze?
This uncertain path—
A maze of choices.
The best is to ignite
The divine light,
Then only can I see the way—
A flame to end the fog
That swallows the night,
So that I am not lost
In the labyrinth of my mind.

Each step forward,
To break free
From the labyrinth.

In my innermost core,
A storm brews—
A battle of light and darkness.
But I am learning now,
The storm must rage to clear the sky.
For each crack in my soul,
A sliver of light spills through,
Warming the coldest corners,
Unveiling truths once hidden.

And one day,
These illusions will fade,
Not in defeat, but in surrender—
As the dawn embraces the night,
And the night dissolves into the day.

I stand, no longer lost,
But rooted in the light I sought,
A flame now kindled within,
Guiding me forward,
Free, whole, and complete.
