Streets Of Marching, Streets Of Playing (Where's The Divide?) Poem by james watkin

Streets Of Marching, Streets Of Playing (Where's The Divide?)

The nerve of them, who profess
To happiness!
An irresponsibility, they
Who loud convey
Over these, its celebration
Of life's 'hey hey'!

Intolerable; what for sound
Clashes hereround.
Still, proud from doorways, bombed out
Raise up this shout;
A mother's, in commemoration
Of youth; strident, stout!
