Subsisting Overlook Poem by Milan Baro

Subsisting Overlook

I am ready to move forward
But, first I have to settle the past
It's time to face and then cast away
All the things that burdened me before

Time is lengthening & I am strengthening
I used to squat with heavy weights on my back
I picked up too much weight from the rack
I must put some of that back
I'm holding the weights and now I'm lifting

Heavy weights were all around me
Life was out of control
The one above me let me know
That I could pass him the weight
He's never late and during anything
He'll give me peace

He stands above me, stronger
When my weight is too heavy to carry
He reminds me
That His burdens are light
& His yoke is easy

So, as the weight gets heavy on my chest
I can't help but feel blessed
That I'm not left here alone
To lift these weights on my own
I call out to the one who's stronger
My Heavenly Father is my spotter
