Subtance Of Life Poem by Teresa Dearing

Subtance Of Life

Rating: 4.5

The world, once a large and mystic place,
Has become a small, volatile space,
Took for granted it would always be so,
Now the earth screams a loud unending ''NO'.

Bountiful seas bear waste and wear,
Of mans arrogant, shameless care,
Seasons protest, what we pipe in the air,
To our Mother earth, we aren't really fair.

The plates are sliping,
The tides are tipping.
Only now do we care.

Where once we were so mighty,
Now the world is not so tidy,
Huddled in masses we sigh,
Only to watch, wait, and cry.

We can only console,
As we have lost control,
Over Earth, substances of life.
