Suffering In Silence Poem by Napa Napa

Suffering In Silence

She turned her back on responsibilities for a prison full of false happiness.

She couldn't put that bondage down long enough to heal.

Isolated herself with every needle placed under her skin.

Restless nights of worry, hoping not to find her dead.

But death would stop the pain would bring bliss to the mind seeking safety.

Every hand reached out just to grab the shadow of the life she lead.

A ghost that calls for help from her prison just to feed the chains that bind her.

Searching for clues of life, any sign of the life she once had.

Itching for that next fix stepping on anyone to get it.

Abandon her family turned her back on the ones she loved, to run into the arms of the wolf she feeds.

Claiming no one understood no one would ever understand this selfish act.

The gashes left on the arms that she stole from never to be healed.

The lives that suffer in silence in hope of her safe return home.

Addiction, Why do you pick her to feed on? Please I beg! Let her go and me in her stead.

A sister, mother, or friend thrown in a prison that will always call them in.

Please, set them free! Addiction! Please let them live, Let them free!

Not a word or a sound is made until desperation comes knocking on their door.

Loved ones searching for an end to their misery, or hope to one day see them free.

A footnote made of hope and what once was given all up for one act of love.

Children ask "Where these figures are? Do they care? Why would they not show? "

Excuses made on their behalf just bleed the pain of knowing what is true.

Will she come out of that prison she feeds, but only some do? Others lie victim to its chains.

She won't be the same as she once was, nor ever will be.

She might die there alone pleading at Addiction " Please let me out! Take this torture from me."

How are we to free her when she feeds the agony with her own hand?

Forced to accept that she will never return to enjoy the life you wished her to be a part.

"Please come back! Please! " we plead in silence we hope to see a smile one last time even for a second.

Our sorrows are carried by the wind to be swallowed by deaf ears robbed from us by the beast they feed.

Time is taken never to be replaced but to carry the pain of their absence until the grave.

I guess there is never-ending suffering from that prison that calls to them every waking day.
