Suicide Lament Poem by J.B. LeBuert

Suicide Lament

Stranded and Alone,
Snow in drifts, all windblown.
Temps dropping below zero;
Today, I don't feel much like a hero.

Depression saps my strength,
Paralyzed again at length.
The wind still blowing strong,
Hopefully, not for too long.

Rise to meet another day,
For my doings, I'll surely pay.
You can't drive all away,
And hope sanity will stay.

I've had enough.
It's gone too far.
No longer upbeat,
Life's bazaar.

I'll end it now.
The question is how?
Life can be so brief,
No doubt - filled with grief.

The last line,
The very last time,
Will be sublime...........
