Summer 2012 Poem by Sherrie Lowe

Summer 2012

Rating: 5.0

In spring they said we had a drought,
Nature went to sort it out,
Then it never stopped raining.

We had a pageant on the Thames,
Raindrops on the camera lens
Cos it never stopped raining.

The Olympic torch brought many smiles,
Carried for 8,000 miles
And it hardly stopped raining.

A silver medal in the cycle race,
A glowing smile on the athlete's face
And it never stopped raining.

Soon the year will reach September
What a summer to remember
Cos it never stopped raining.

Leaden skies all summer long,
Coming up is autumn's song
AND IT'S NEVER STOPPED RAINING!
