Summer Dreamin' Poem by R.Benjamin Abate

Summer Dreamin'

Bon fires - guitar playing beside
smoke stained sweatshirts
'someone grab more wood'
put on the bug-spray as you lift up your
sweatpants cuffs - tuck your hand under my
shirt collar - don't think about dawn -
we made it this far - nothing can stop us now -
another sip of wine warms us up as we cuddle
sharing thoughts - laughter - s'mores -
dancing with strangers - falling in lagoons - leap of the lips -
drunken kiss - stars spying - paparazzi taking blissful pictures
of summer - sphinx waiting at the end of the dream -
to see if you can get the riddle right to see
the supernova over the last threshold- -

Freedom and seclusion in love and in summer sounds perfect as ideals always are.
