The rain does lash the windows,
Lightening flashes across the sky,
Thunders roars all around me,
I think I’m going to die.
I have a fear of lightening,
I hope it misses me,
As I drive down the flooded roads,
Scared of driving under the trees.
It is a Summer Storm,
It’s been promised to come for weeks,
We need the added rainfall,
For more water we all seek.
Global Warming has changed our Seasons,
Even in England we’re short of rain,
We need to fill our Reservoirs,
Each Day ~ and again ~ and again.
I don’t mind storms at night,
As long as I’m asleep,
Rain without Thunder and Lightening,
Is what I pray for ~ and seek.
