Sun Yat-Sen: O'er South-Eastern Half Of The Country, Man Of Great Fore-Sight!

MEMORIAL TRIBUTE TO LIU DAO-YI (1885-1907)
-- by Sun Yat-Sen (1866-1925)
-- Translated by Frank C Yue

O'er South-Eastern half of the country, man of great fore-sight!
Alas! Now that you were gone, who's left here to lead our fight?
What are left behind now is a Herculean task true.
By comparison, who could be so generous as you?

At the frontier, the Autumn wind grieves with the lone war horse,
O'er the land and the sad sinking sun, the wild goose cries hoarse.
As we drink to our hearts' content I will offer you wine,
Where the great rushing torrents meet our passions intertwine!
