Sunset Poem by Jennifer Dawson

Sunset

Rating: 5.0

Sitting on the grassy bank
As the sun goes down
A paintbox scene of fiery hues
Melting into deeper blues.

The clouds that give us patterns
Across the evening sky
Breaking up the colour swathes
Bold and beautiful, softening shades.

Reflections in the water
Of colours more subdued
Silhouettes of trees, of leaves
Blackened forms the picture please

There's nothing quite so beautiful
As the colours evening brings
The sunset glow, the evening light
A mixing palette of delight

It lasts for but a moment
Before the magic fades
Be sure to stand
And watch, in awe
As sunset lifts our lives once more
A minute caught twix day and night
A blessing to all who share this sight
