Sunset Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Sunset

Whatever I do
Whatever I become
Whether I perish merrily or in sadness
You will be in my heart
I will be sitting on a bench overlooking the sea at sunset with you
the sun like a red rubber ball, scattering light as it sinks on the horizon
the cool ocean breeze and the gentle sound of surf
your hand held tightly in mine
your wamth pressed against me like a soft blanket
tears of love and joy in each other's eyes
and dreams of eternity together
because I won't go without you
You'll be in my heart the moment my heart stops beating
I only lived to meet you
life wasn't living without you
