Sunshine From Sorrow Poem by DAVID TERRY

Sunshine From Sorrow

A morning in the sunshine
Spent thinking of where you are
A cup of cheer bought just in time
To warm my inner heart

I’m in a new place, a newer day
Than one I’ve known in years
In which I’ll lift my head and say
That I’m done with all these tears

For now to walk around this place
No longer my head hung down
No longer to behold your pretty face
Nor in your sorrows drown

New normal that now leaves behind
Both love and anger past
While trying to keep you from my mind
Lest tomorrow be miscast

Enjoy will I this day in the sun
And hope for one tomorrow
While moving from my chosen one
Who gave her love and sorrow
