Surfer's Wave Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Surfer's Wave

The surfer looked at me.
My gaze looked at
The waves behind him.
My pupils transfixed.

My eyes scanned the horizon,
But I still didn't understand,
His charming surfer's smile,
His surfboard on the sand.

Our eyes with wave images in both.
Drew us closer.
We made friendship on the beach,
Heaven's blessings sent to each.

I waved bye to the surfer,
I thanked him for his stay.
I asked if our friendship would continue.
But he didn't want to say.
