Survival Costs Poem by ann rta

Survival Costs

Rating: 5.0

Tiger pads through the jungle
golden almond eyes
savage beauty in striped coat
one of few - survives.

Rhino wallows in mud bath
wrinkled black/grey eyes
bearer of rich ivory horn
one of few - survives.

Blue fin tuna swims in Pacific
cold fishy eyes
silver body like metal tin
one of few - survives.

Many species now long gone,
dead forgotten eyes
no longer in the natural world
none of them - survives.

Men walk tall learning more
many coloured eyes
living longer multiplying
millions (at cost) survive.

So brothers sisters please unite,
open up your eyes
do not destroy, help and aid
all living thrive - survive.
