Swami Vivekananda Jayanti
On his birth anniversary
Got I reminded of Swamiji,
The great disciple of mystic Ramkrishna,
His Chicago address
And his lesson in karmayoga,
Nishkam kama,
His treatise on Advaita Vedanta.
The saffron sanyasin I saw him
In dhyana,
Giving discourses,
The life-size statue speaking to
And I queued up to pay my homage,
To say my pranam to the reverend teacher
With floral tributes.
