Sweet Abstinence - Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

The taste
Of your succulent lips
Lingers on
Like molten dark chocolate

The furtive aroma
Of your perfume
Colonizes mats of erect receptors
Of my enchanted nostrils

Serenading whispers
From your sensuous lips
Leave a symphonic trail of echoes
In the grottoes of my psyche

The angelic image
Of your breathtaking visage
Draws my world
To your flawless ivory veneer

Oh how sweet is surrender
To the temple of sentience
Inhabited by an earthly goddess

Even in the absence
Of her apical touch
