Sweet Dreams Poem by Marilyn Lott

Sweet Dreams

Rating: 5.0

The stars shown on the Oldsmobile
And she snuggled close to him
So handsome he was to the lady
He was really and truly a gem

They watched the sunset in silence
Listened closely to the heart of the other
But within this perfect scenario
She thought of her dear sweet mother

Would mother approve of him?
And what would her daddy say?
Would they think her way too young?
Would there be an upsetting display?

But romance was thick in the air
As hearts were racing fast
She wanted him to propose to her
Dreamed of a marriage that would last

Ah yes, all through the centuries
Love is all the same it seems
Two souls with hearts a’pounding
The girl with precious sweet dreams!
