Sweet Lies Poem by Oduro Bright Amoh

Sweet Lies

"I would fetch and throw it away with a cup;
This river when it comes between you and me.
And though the fish would lose their home
I will, for you, grow cold to their plea.

If trees prove the stumbling blocks
Preventing me to reach your land,
Let mankind die for want of air,
I would break them with this soft hand.

And if dear old time the culprit is
Who tries to prove my love in vain,
The world will see tomorrow in a hurry,
For I will chase today away with a cane."

Sweet lies like these are a poet's place
I am a common man as you can see,
And so, My Love, I can only say
That I will die if you go away from me
