Sweet Love Poem by Valerie Dohren

Sweet Love

Sweet love, upon the soul a heav'nly kiss
Which sets aflame the cold and hungry heart,
Entrancing those enraptured with such bliss
That time could never dare to cleave apart.

Sweet love, so pure and truly deemed divine
A gift bestowed on those with gentle grace,
I would such love could thus be ever mine
To hold forever in my warm embrace.

So you, dear friends, who are so greatly blessed
Keep safe such love, not ever to release,
As tenderly your heart be soft caressed
Hold fast and feel the joys of love increase.

(And I shall be alone upon this night
As love no longer holds me in its grasp,
For such is gone forever from my sight -
The time for love has now become long past) .
