Sweet Memories Poem by PULAK DAS

Sweet Memories

When I was young
Life to me was a beautiful song.

However, when I turned into youth
I come to know about the truth.

The love and care seem only for show
When the child in me began to grow.

The love and care I have had as a child
Suddenly turned scary and wild.

The offal of my meal no more
Attract others as they did before.

The memories of my childhood enthralls my heart
It must enthralls no more

Now worthless on earth, being only a bare
Devoid alike of joy and care.

Weaving the memories that I gain
Ah! Then I feel I have not lived in vain.

I hope the moments will come again
And take me away from this pain.
