Sweet Paranoia Poem by Becca Bell

Sweet Paranoia

Rating: 0.5

This is not the full poem; I left some of it out to preserve my personal dignity.

In secrecy, we lie
I'm trembling;
Like the man on the street corner
Who's addicted,
But seeks no rehab.
The moment is cryptic in my mind
I brush it off
My whole body is pulsating now
Sweet paranoia is knocking on our door
You're shaking too
We're being held hostage by the adrenaline
My mind is whirling
Hey Daddy, I'm not your little girl anymore
Oh, I can't suppress this nervous giggle
I'm hit with the faint smell of your cologne
So soft, but I revel in this tiny luxury of mine
Dreamland awaits us now
If we wake up, the moment might dissolve
But our eyes are already closed
