Swirl Swirl Swirl Poem by Sumita Jetley

Swirl Swirl Swirl

In the bustling heart of Old Delhi's night,
Ali swirls in dance, his spirit alight.
'Magic in motion, ' he laughs, drawing near,
With drumbeats that pulse, and chants that you hear.

Through narrow lanes where markets spill,
His steps take flight, his heart feels thrill.
'Each chant, a breath; each breath, my core, '
He spins, and finds peace, amidst the uproar.

Sameer by his side, sips chai, eyes wide,
Watching Ali whirl, with no place to hide
From the ecstatic grace, the fervent zeal,
Now understanding the divine appeal.

As twilight deepens, the dhikr slows,
The universe itself seems to compose
A symphony of silence under starlit skies,
With incense lingering where the old day lies.

Together they tread through quiet streets,
The night wraps them gently, their hearts keep beats.
'A celebration of life, ' Ali's smile declares,
In the sacred dance, where the soul repairs.
