See the police tape over the sidewalk
what happened to our freedom
Sorrounding a vacant lot
The one they used to live in
Parking meters will still function
Though imprisoned by yellow bars
Men with cardboard signs adandoned
Facing the street
chanting to the cars
I sit there with my sketchbook
A pen in my hand
Draw the tape around the meters
write these lines cuz i still can
This is just a symbolic gesture
But i've done all i can
So now i'll tell you
WE WANT BACK OUR LAND
