Syria 4 April 2017

Syria 4 April 2017

Khan Sheikhoun towns folk
Wallow under sarin skies
Intervention counsels resistance
Children's bodies litter streets
Stricken reach hospital, triaged
Air raids press summary executions,
Care bereft, heightened plausible denial,
Of rebel's detonated gas stockpiles,
Inconvenient bomb craters in roads
Confound typical lies and
Another sacrosanct hospital razed
Reinforces unfettered power,
The Basher shrugs and smiles
Exile looms with impunity,
But for today the World watches
Passes another useless resolution
Pouring platitudes over stock footage and
Moves seamlessly onto First World issues,
Bodies twitching in tortured fear
Now still in cool compliance
Clog make shift morgues,
Beyond malignant wailing
all is silent, all is calm, all is far away.
