Take A Drink Poem by Frederick Francis

Take A Drink

Rating: 5.0

If you dip in just a toe
And you like what you feel,
Will you try your whole foot
And see if it is real?
Or do you fear then jumping in
And finding your self immersed
Only to discover with you dripping
That I’m quenched of my thirst.

Do you think I try to hold the water
Because it runs through my fingers?
You suspect that I’ll go towel off
If I find the water lingers.
Just know that I can promise
That I won’t let you drown
If you find that you can’t swim
Then I’ll drink all the water down.
