Instead of going biking
Today, I instead went hiking,
Instead of peddling on a paved trail
Walking on dirt path I instead would prevail.
Instead of peddling pedals
As if I were participating to win some medals,
I instead put on my old tennis shoes
So, I would hike to see the beautiful views.
Instead of riding my bike
I instead laced up my shoes for a hike,
I hiked where a bike could never go
And I saw first hand Mother Nature's beautiful show.
Instead of peddling as if to win a race
I walked observing with a slow unhurried pace,
And as I hiked with many others
We talked of adventures, families and our druthers.
Instead of riding my bike for a quick zest
I instead took a walking adventure, a slow quest,
Instead of going biking with Melanie and Doug
I instead went hiking with Karen and her club.
