Take Me As I Am Poem by Queen Ukpe

Take Me As I Am

Rating: 5.0

It's here again
A moment I never thought would happen
A feeling uncontrollable, a touch irresistible
How will I ignore this?
I told you that I am not ready?
Never did I bargain for it, yet you stubbornly pierced my heart
And swept me off my feet
Suddenly, I became confused, lust and engrossed
I became crazy too, can you imagine?
Laziness props in; I can't possibly let you go!
You are a beautiful soul
A limelight in every hall mark
A sunshine that brightens all dark
A catalyst that ignites the fire in me
You are here again!
How did you get here?
When did you get into my mind?
I remember refusing to give you the key
Yet you unlocked my heart without me seeing
Why did you blindfold me without my approval?
Now, you will have to take me as I am when you see the other part of me
A part unknown to you; it is gentle, quiet, lonely and teary
This part is tough and rough
It ignores, pushes away, so do not feel confident in this race
It's better you give me some space
For there are scars that are not erased
Do you think you can get into my head?
I'm warning you! Stop acting sweet, I won't give you a tweet
Enough of this please, it won't make me to give in
You have to take me as I am, that is the new me
It pretentiously tries not to care, it gets broken when you get hurt
My heart finds it difficult letting you slip off
Remains closed because it's not healed properly
How could I free the soul that is deeply into me?
Nothing can be compared to a love as pure as yours
Your words sofen me
Your eyes explains all to me
Your hug weakens me
Your hands connects mine, and I beacame messed up severally in this spell
Your promises propels me to your loving arms
I don't think I can continue being hard towards you because the game plan I'd banned
Your love has conquered this toughness
There is nothing I can do about it
Just take me as I am

A beautiful out pouring of a emotion not really sure whether to completely surrender to New love or not....10.

A powerful and emotional expression of incarnate passion.Your work teases the literary system of format and style, as you creatively blend and confluence of both Free and Prosaic Verse into a format that can also be construed as a form of Essay in what this Reader sees as a well written Love Letter. And I'm liking it Queen. Well done.[FjR'19]
