Take Me To The Willow Tree Poem by Richard D Remler

Take Me To The Willow Tree

........

take me to the willow tree,
where the sparrow and the robin nest.
let me breathe her beauty in,
let me linger. let me rest.

the sunshine seems so bright today.
she ever gently touches me.
she whispers, 'rest, my child, rest.
I'll watch over thee."

the lilac is so fragrant,
and the wildflowers fair.
the grass so very beautiful
As I linger there...

and the sun, she smiles warmly-
as i hear the sparrows song
calling me to skies so blue,
"come along, come along."

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
"There is a sacredness in tears. They are
not the mark of weakness, but of power.
They speak more eloquently than ten
thousand tongues. They are the messengers
of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition,
and of unspeakable love."
~ Washington Irving
