Take The Plunge Poem by Richard Fuerst

Take The Plunge

Take the plunge

Take a breath
Take a deep breath
And take the plunge

Go deep within your thoughts
Past sea grass and coral
Through schools of fish with yellow eyes
To the sunlit sandy bottom below

Take the plunge
Follow your sunlit dreams
Across the gentle slope
To where the blue divides

There on the watery ledge
Tuna and seals wait for you
They'll take your hand
As you descend
Into the blue abyss
Where fish without eyes blink at you
And where this strange new life
Becomes your friend

Your bubbles ascend
Like music

Suspended in the currents
You dance with plankton and sea horses
And you laugh as tiny fish catch rides
On dolphins that chase your bubbles
Across the blue divide

Follow your dreams
And take the plunge
